The launch of the DS Lite last week has lead to a huge increase of friends owning DSes, and also requests for friend codes. So I thought I’d put them here.

It’s also interesting to note that it’s designed so that you must have some primary communication method, both for exchanging friend codes but also deciding when to play. It’s hard to hang around on the service waiting for friends to show up, and the likelihood of a friend playing the same game as you at precisely the same time is low. It’s quite clever – presumably designed in to prevent under 12s communicating with people they don’t know (all you can ever do is play a game with them, and other than in Animal Crossing, there’s no in game communication), but it also acknowledges the multiple simultaneous synchronous channels that many people use these days.
